As owner/builder, we were involved in the project from inception to completion. The owner/builder designation allowed us to fine tune our home to our needs and to participate in the entire construction process. Greg created a productive working environment by assembling a team of experienced professionals. A stylist was available to assist us in making the many decisions necessary for new construction. Greg Putman has built four homes in Bayview Estates while I served as President of the HOA Board. During the early years of development in Bayview Estates I encountered problems from some builders-mostly work hours, loud radios and site cleanup. As a member of the Design Review Committee I also witnessed some problems with builders not adhering to approved plans. I can honestly say that there was not one problem with Greg’s work that came my way-either on the Board or the Design Review Committee. Partially due to this experience I was very happy to have Greg become a member of the Design review Committee. His professional expertise and attention to detail are invaluable to the DRC. Should I ever decide to build a home in Bayview or elsewhere on the Big Island, Greg’s name would be on the VERY short list of contractors.
I have known Greg and Nancy Putman since August 2007. Greg was project manager for the construction of a custom home in Kailua-Kona, which I subsequently purchased and occupied that year. The home was of superior quality and finishes, compatible with “resort style” homes seen along the Kohala Coast. Since December 2007, Greg was involved in a number of upgrades to the house and I have always found him to be meticulous in his work/attention to detail. I am a licensed architect with many years of construction experience. I happened to have a chance working with Mr. Putman and visit his other job sites. He is a unique contractor. I have never seen other contractors as organized as he is. He works hard on the job site with his team to make sure a job is done according to the drawing and on schedule. It is not often to come across a capable contractor who is also straight forward and honest. He is a reliable contractor who I have confidence to build a quality building.
